Motorola Modem Configuration

By kagi87 ·
In fact I have a problem with a Motorola Modem firstly I installed the modem and configure it properly and it worked without any problem(with a name of Motorola Wave Sound Modem) later on I had a problem that oblidged me to remove the modem card. When fixed it again it fails to work and I restarted the computer and at restarting the computer detected a modem with a different name(Motorola speakerphone Modem )and I install the drive from the cd rom provided with the modem when tested the modemit shows me that it's working but when I dialled I failed to connect.I removed the modem and restart the computer and the computer detected the second Modem name so I want to know What can I do to deal with that Problem ?
Please help !!!!

Most Modem are all the same basicly
it is most likely in the Init. string.
what dialup program are you useing and who are you trying to connect to?
like msn or what ISP?
check your setting in dialup networking and maybe reinstall dialup networking
will it dial from your dialer or just will not connect?

first of all this is propbably the most inportant thing to do is that you must fist boot to safe mode and remove the modem entry in system device manager dont forget to look for any emulators as well as wave devices for the modem. After removal of the drivers then shut down and remove the modem it self from the computer. Reboot then shut down and reinstall the modem into the computer and reboot this should clear the regestry and allow windows to get the proper moden identified and installed. ifthe modem still dose not work the you have a dead modem replacement is then the only recource.
