mouse cursor freezes when win xp indexes

By golsht_s ·
When brousing the Internet suddenly and randomely windows xp home edition sr1 seems to freeze andut the hard disk lamp flickers. After several seconds everything returns to normal. Is this connected to the fact that windows is updating indexing. How do I prevent this annoying behaviour?

It could be that spyware is hanging your system.

try downloading ADAWARE and scanning.

Make sure your address bar is not full of HD references or dead URL's, this will cause IE to hiccup. You can use tweakUi for this.

You mentioned that you believe that Indexing may be causing this problem and you want to disable it. Depending upon the size of your disk(s), and the number of files and/or directories, this may very well be the problem.
Do the following:
Open Control Panel
Open Administrative Tools
Open Computer Management
Select Services and Applications and expand
Rt-clk on Indexing Service, and select Stop

Hope this helps,
