Mouse & Keyboard problem can’t login

I running XP Pro. My logitech wireless mouse and keyboard went on the blink. I was instructed by one of their tech to do a clean boot which meant that I had to go into msconfig uncheck the process system.ini, win.ini, and load startup items. I then had to click on the services tab check hide all microsoft services and click the button that disable all. then restart. Well, when the system rebooted to my login screen the mouse nor the keyboard worked. I tired connecting a basic mouse and keyboard to the system – doesn’t work. Any suggestion?

Before doing a clean boot did you reactivate both pieces by pushing the buttons on the bottom of both keyboard and mouse (use a pin to push in)
Then download the latest drivers

Yes, before thge clean boot I did reactivate both the keyboard and mouse and download the latest driver.

you can contact your motherboard manufacture and see what they have to say, my guess is your ps/2 ports are broken
