mouse not scrolling

By JADavis9 ·
Suddenly my mouse will not scroll when I am on a web page. I must have changed some setting somewhere. It also does not work in Word or Excel.

lol, well try re-installing the drivers, if your using win 7 just try unpluging it and putting it back in after a few seconds. If not look up the mouse you have and download drivers, try also going to control pannle and see if you stoped the scroll function, if none of these work buy a new mouse, because its probly broken...you could have worste problems lol

USB or PS/2?

by Peconet Tietokoneet In reply to mouse not scrolling

If USB then take out the usb dongle and place it into a different USB socket on your computer, but make sure it is not attached to the front USB socket (if you have one) because it is less powerful then the back USB sockets.

If PS/2 (mouse) socket then shutdown the computer first before detachment and replace with another (mouse) to test out the socket.

What kind of mouse?

What is the make of the mouse? If it is a wireless one, most of those have programs to configure everything on the mouse.

Kensington wired Optical Elite 72121. I had a spare, so I put it on and screensaver seems to work now. I also swapped my keyboard.
