By artcabot2 ·
I'm getting low on drive C: space. Is it possible to move the folder: System Information Volume to drive ? If so, how?

ya mean System Volume Information folder?
think it has to sit on 'its' volume, you can't move it but you can delete it (you'll have to change permissions on it to get access maybe)
it will get re-createded on reboot. so wouldn't you rather move the swap file?
also, you can move those huge windows update files (what a dirty trick, microsoft. collusion with hd mfgs) with a registry hack to point to the new location. yuk.
you can look up how at
hey micorosft, where is my nice little tool for upgrading my system hard disk? if this were linux, or osx you'd be done by now plus you wouldn't had this problem in the first place (ahem, sorry. kicking soapbox back under bench)

sgt_schultz is right, but if you wanted to remove the System Volume Information then turn off system restore. If you want to empty it then turn off and then turn on system restore.
It would be a good idea to send the majority of the page file to the second disk, and this will free up room. Also, delete temps in
c:\documents and settings\%username%\local settings\temp
Open IE and delete temp IE files

and, you can uninstall a few apps and reinstall them to the if you need more room.

Some of this I'd already done or planned to do when I can reboot the box. The means to clear the folder was a new idea, though. Thanks.
