moving from telecom sales to PM designation: anyone done similar?

By jwcollinz ·
I'm in business sales within the telecom sector (aged 45) but have become tired lately of the perennial sales targets (although I do very well/always overachieve by far)...but want to use my arts degree a bit more and have thought of taking a certificate program at either my local college (langara) or university(UBC) here in vancouver in project management...a few senior mgrs/directors (one in sales the other in finance) thought it might be good given my enjoyment of writing, planning, research, networking and sales (don't have a strong sciences/math background so an MBA is out..esp at my age)...any thoughts on this as an enjoyable career change that one could take into a different industry, ie, even healthcare (growing bored of telecom)

Education?

If you want a complete change, have you thought of doing teaching? I know the situation is different, but my partner moved from Fashion Design to teaching Fashion at University, and she's loving it.
