Moving Information by macro in Access

By chezacke ·
I was wondering if it is possible to set a macro in microsoft access that will move information from certain fields in one form to certain fields in another form to remove the need to re-enter data in the second form.

I know it is possible as some of our Access DB apps do just that. Unfortunately, I don't have too much access to the macros. In the macro screen design view, one of the dropdowns is for copy object. You can use this to copy from one form screen element to another if I remember correctly.

Try the following link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vbaac11/html/acactCopyObject_HV01122133.asp

you absolutely can do that using the setvalue command but it might be easier if you used a query to map the fields. Also, needing to re-enter data redundantly that way indicates an architectural problem with the database. both forms should be getting that data from the same table.
