Because our old servers were washed away in a flood, we are building the new server room above flood level. Right now the new servers (W2000 file print and app servers, NT BDC) are located in the old server room downstairs. I’m concerned about network performance and the time it will take for information to pass between client and the servers. The servers will be connected to a hub, hub connected to set of switches downstairs by a 250 ft. Cat 5 cable, switches connected to patch panel. How can i measure how long it will take (now vs. post-move beyond using ping which only tells me “<10ms")? We are a non-profit organization so the cheaper the solution, the better. Thanks!
