Moving of home directories

By mwogaman ·
I am running Win NT Server 4.0 and have several HD's. I am running out of space on both the C and \ drives and owuld like to move my users home directories to the F or G drive. Is there a way to do this without cause problems for the users? In other words, can I just drag the "hoe" directory over and re-establish the link on each user's machine, or is going to cause a problem when I create new users? How about any other issues you may know about?
Thanks for the assistance.

Well, moving the Home Directories is indeed the easy job. The main thing is re-mapping the drive letter for the clients. Do you do this through logon scripts or using User Mgr and mapping Home Dir under User profile? Either, way, all of these have to be changed. You may run into a few minor issues along the way. Icon shortcuts, etc... for clients, but I cannot think of any BIG issues with moving the directories.

I appreciate the help and figured there would be some minor issues to juggle...but then there always is!
