I have several workstations currently serving in workgroup configuration. I am about to convert our network to a domain. The last piece I need to figure out is how to convert local users to local profile domain users in Win2K.
The NT4 PDC is up and running and the users can log on with thier domain account, but once thier local folder is made I am unable to copy thier old profile into thier new local profile (no roaming profiles here). I’ve tried the “My computer/properties/user” “copy/change” method which is effective in NT, but the change option will not let me select the domain – the option is greyed. I also noticed that when the copy is done, not all the folders are moved – most notably the hidden “local settings” folder whichhas the Outlook files in it.
The Windows 2000 machine was successfully added to the domain. Thanks in advance.
