I am preparing to move users from one Windows 2000 server to another and am wondering if there is a simple way of moving all user files while maintaining the current rights and permissions.
On my servers there is a share folder "Users" and under that are departments such as "InfoSystems". In that folder is a shared folder for that department and a folder for each user. Obviously, each of these folders has different rights assigned. The company can see Users, only IS can see InfoSystems and Shared, whereas only the user can see his/her own folder.

It is a member server in an AD. There is no Distributed File System installed on either server. All Directory Services are handled at the corporate office in another state. Thanks for the questions.
I've migrated many servers/users & shares using only this tool with no issues. I've also done it with MS Native & Resource kit tools & had uhhh mixed results & long nights.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
