Moving Users from One domain Controller to Another

Hey buddies...... i need some help

I am using windows 2000 server domain controller
Now i need to rebuild my domain server, but i want to make sure all user accounts and policies keep in tact....... wht i have decided is, insatall active directory on another computer n copy all users there , and after rebuilding my server... move them back ....
Tell me is it possible......how can i do that ?
Moving users from one active directory to another.....i cannot make the domain with the same name ...... right......

DCs in AD are peers

just make the server a DC & global Catalog server. Allow replication between the DCs. If your W2K server also hosts DNS, add that in to as AD requires DNS to function. Users will be able then authenticate and access network resources

Hey buddy thanks....but actually I just want to copy users as a backup only .. i will then move them back to my server after reinstallation. Where is the replicate option ? my Domain controller is already global catalog i guess...how to check it ? n how to replicate users :S its 2000 server ok
