MPEG time not displayed correctly

By jdmercha ·
I have one computer that does not handle mpeg files correctly.

I have captured mpeg files from a video camera using Dazzle video Creator. I saved the mpeg files onto a network drive. I have run the video from several computers, all of which correctly identify the video as 10 minutes long. I copyed the video to CD, and playing the video from CD also shows that the video is 10 minutes long.

But I have one computer that plays the video from the network and identifies it as 3 minutes long. But it will still play the entire 10 minutes. If I use that same computer to copy the file from the network drive to a CD, the file on the CD will show a 3 minute playing time on all computers, but still plays all 10 minutes.

This machine runs Windows XP, completely updated. I've uninstalled WMP and reinstalled WMP. I've also tried installing new codecs. But since the problem appears when copying foles to a CD I don't tink WMP is the problem.

I have done searches on Goolge and Microsoft, with no results. There are similar discussion on the MS groups but no solutions. Has anybody seen this before? Does anybody have any suggestions?
