MS 2000 Server upgrade

Currently at our company, we have a Macintosh network, 80% of users use apple machines, the remaining has PC. We want to implement the MS 2000 server following the Domain model. Can the 2000 Domain model and the Apple servers coexist. what would be the best approach on how to build the first 2000 server? What do I need to be careful about, in addition to the network settings.
