MS Access Combo Box Problem

By munrrob ·
I have a form using a query looking at 3 tables to populate it. In some of the tables I have fields that are populated from combo boxes with their own recordsources (sql of look up tables containing the code to store and a description. I display the description and use the code as the bound column).

My problem is that I can add a record but cannot select a value from the combo boxes. However, if I exit the form and re-enter the record just added then the combo boxes work as normal.

Any ideas?

Does this happen at the point where you move from one table to another? ie, Field 1-5 are from Table A, field 6-8 are from Table B, and the problem happens when you go from field 5 to field 6. Often, you have to force a refresh in order for access to populate 2 linked tables in one form--in otherwords, manually make it recognize the new record in order to link another record in any other table to it. You can get around this by using sub forms, most times.

Thanks Mavyn, I had already worked this one out by forcing a save after the user had entered the persons surname in the first table.
