MS EXCHANGE/OUTLOOK

DOES AUTOFORWARDING WORK GOING TO EMAIL ADDRESSES OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMPANY/EMAIL SYSTEM.

I TRIED SETTING UP A RULE TO HAVE ALL EMAIL ARRIVING TO AN INBOX BE FORWARDED TO AN OUTSIDE EMAIL ADDRESS AND IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE WORKING.

I CREATED ANOTHER RULE TO HAVE EMAIL ARRIVING TO THE SAME INBOX FORWARDED TO SOMEONE WITHIN MY COMPANY/EMAIL SYSTEM AND IT WORKS.

Sounds like the Exchange Server is set up not to allow automatic forwarding to the Internet. That's the default settingt. Check with your administrator.

If your administrator doesn't want to allow automatic forwarding to the Internet, he/she can accomplish what you want another way from the Exchange server. If you want to sound knowledgeable, ask him/her if she/he would set up a custom recipient with your Internet email address and set up this custom recipient as an Alternate recipient for your Exchange mailbox - this will automatically send a copy of messages you receive to that custom recipient. This is the way we do this at our Exchange sites. Hope this helps!
