Hi! I am having one heck of a time trying to configure the web server for local development of a new web site requiring ASP support. I can easily put the site on a hard disk, but need a virtual directory, i.e, http://local/myweb as opposed to C:/inetpub/wwwroot, so I can test my Active server pages. I’m running FP 2000, with Lagarde Storefront 5.0 for e-commerce capabilities. I have two machines; one running NT 4 w.s. w/ SP6, and another older machine running win 95. I have MS Personal Web Server, and IIS 4.0 running on both, but getting the FP server extensions configured correctly for the http://local root seems impossible!! Either the extensions don’t get recognized when trying to publish to the http address, or I end up with a conflict on default port 80, probably from having these two versions of a web server on each machine. I have been screwin with settings for a week and a half and I wish I could just buy a new computer (&)&*)!@#@!$. The only other easy fix is to go live and let the web host worry about server config issues. Then I can just work remotely.
ANY IDEAS ANYONE????
thanks,
Steve
