MS Office as a Development Tool

By cleg ·
I was wondering if anyone had opinions or data on using MS Office as a development tool, especially in terms of BI applications. Also, if anyone can point to any links with industry informations/standards regarding the use of Office.

MS Office as a development tool is very powerful. The world largest Military application is Jfast. (pure BI)

The auto-brief capabilities of the application use Ms office as development tool. The program manipulate the content of the briefing and move data in and out of the applications, building a Word document with Excel graphs while simultaneously preparing a finished briefing on the output of the analysis using PowerPoint and creating the presentation documents, graphs, slides covering the analysis of the deployment.
