MS Outlook 2003/2007

I am using Ms outlook 2003 configured on windows XP and the e mail server is exchange 2000.Recently i have a problem that all the emails in the inbox get deleted after opening and closing the new mail ,but this problem i found only for the inbox .mails inside the sub folders configured by the rule are intact. i confirm that there is no filter or rules are applied to the inbox .even i tried from outlook 2007 but iam facing the same problem
any one having the solution for the same pls help me.
