I am trying to understand the technical process by which Outlook sends encrypted email. Seems that even when you are only encrypting, if there is a problem with your certificates, it still says can’t find digital signature. Does the encryption process somehow also incorporate the digital signature into it as well? I realise there are two buttons one that digitally signs and one that encrypts. I am talking about just the encrypt function and if it somehow incorporates the digital signature into its algorithm.
