MS Outlook to be default

Have a problem where MS Outlook Express is the default email client. Need to change the default to MS oulook 2000. Have reinstalled Outlook 2000 again and this does solve the problem. However is there a quicker way ? ie registry change to overcome the problem.

While in Internet Explorer click on Tools, Internet Options. Click on the Programs Tab and you can celect your email program.

Did not help as this is the option for email within Internet explorer. i.e when you click on a email link within explorer it will open up the selected email client.

The first time you open Outlook 2000 after installation it prompts you to ask whether you want it to be your default client. Answering yes usually solves the problem. However this is not necessarily the case if installed on W2K or XP as you must be logged in as local administrator for the change to be effected on all profiles. (This is assuming to changes to the defaults in W2k). The change is then made in Internet Explorer… click on Tools, Internet Options. Click on the Programs Tab and you can select your email program.
