MS Proxy and Internet Access

By Jayanth ·
Hi,
I am planning to install MS Proxy 2.0 on a Windows NT4 SP6 system, to provide Internet access and Firewall for a small group of people in my office.
I know that MS Proxy provides http, https, ftp etc. support, by default on Port 80. Can I change http access to port 8080, https to 8081 and so on? Is it possible on MS Proxy 2.0? If so how do I do it. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Jayanth

PS: I am on a 64K DSL link with a static IP. My ISP provides the DNS IP's. I plan to provide this setup for max. 20 users, all on Windows clients.

I think you would be better with a third part program like anaolg-x or Wingate.

Thanks, I knew about Analog-X or Wingate. But MS Proxy2.0 exists in the organization and I have to make use of it :-). Moreover, in future I might also have a Exchange Server inside my LAN. So I plan to use MS Proxy right now.

Hi
What I did in proxy was in IIS and the properties of the winsock server, under protocols, I entered a new protocol called HTTP(2)and so on and this works fine!!!!

Hope it works for you too.
