MS Proxy Server: Monitor Use

By bblunden ·
Is there an "Add-On" or "Plug-in" to MS Proxy Server that allows you to monitor what web sites are being accessed by the users?

Thanks,
Bill Blunden

Don't necessarily know about additional add-ons but if you set the logging to Verbose on the Web Proxy service it will monitor which users on your LAN access the internet and also which web sites that they go to. If this is an option for you I would set up logging to an ODBC or SQL database.

WOW! I guess I should spend more time working with MS Proxy Server. It does have a few more "bells and wistles" than I thought. Thanks!! I'm new at working with ODBC or SQL databases. Do you have a link to a good Tech Net article on how to set one up?

Thanks,
Bill

We use Proxy Reporter it breaks everything down into groups. You can create and or modify existing groups to fit your needs. The report is very easy to read and very informative.

I took a look and it seems like a lot of "fluff" for what Proxy Server already does. Without using ODBC, I was able to put the data in an Excell spreadsheat and got what I needed.

Thanks,
Bill
