MS SQL server response

By mercadg ·
I have an application running on a 733MHZ, 128MB client and the database on a SQL server with dual P600mzh and 1G MB. The response is very slow. Is there a way I can increase the speed?

We had some workstations on our site that experienced slow connections using name resolution. You failed to mention the version of SQL Server you are using. If you are connecting to 7.0, one thing you can try is setting up an alias using the SQL Server client network utility. This will cause the client to connect through I/P rather than using name resolution. This has helped tremendously in our network.
