Ms Windows Network: Instant Messaging

Hello,
Is there any way to block tcp/ip ports through the hosts file or by client if u don't have a firewall in the server?

MSNMESSENGER & AIM are makking me crazy

I'm not sure about AIM, but MSN uses port 1080 by default for internet connection. If you don't use a firewall I don't see how your going to block ports. A server on the internet without a firewall is just a bad idea to begin with.
