MS Word 2000 not opening

I installed MS Word 2000 on my computer running Windows XP. Word worked like it should for at least 2 months. Now for no apparent reason I am getting an error every time I try to open Word. I am getting a box that reads something about not being able to open Word and gives me an option to send a report to Microsoft. I uninstalled Word and then re-installed it to see if the problem would be fixed to no avail. I even tried Installing an older version of Word and received the same error. All other Office aplications (excel, outlook, etc.) work fine though. Anyone know a fix for this? Thanks in advance for your help.
