MS Word - Making a table hidden

By sbala ·
I'm trying to make a lot of text hidden in a word document, which is fine, including tables. The tables will act "hidden" when I turn off the view hidden text option..but when I do a replace of all hidden text, the table won't disappear! Any suggestions?

Works fine for me in OfficeXP

Try inserting a new table in the same document placing one character in each cell of the new table to make sure there is nothing going on with alignemnt/sizing etc and hide this.
//Does it reappear as expected?

Now place a new table with some text in a new document does the same thing happen when you make it reappear //Does it reappear as expected?

Dependant on your answer to the above we will be able to narrow it down to properties of the initial document or a corrupt document. Also please let us know the version of Office

I tried doing it again in this document and another and the hiding/showing works...but it's the replace that doesn't work. It doesn't work in this table or another table. I'm trying to replace it with a space basically to delete it and the text IN the table disappears, but not the table lines themselves.
