MSCONFIG FOR 95????

By PeeJay ·
Hello Everyone: I have a question... In Windows 98, if you go to run and type in msconfig, you will get a list of everything in your "task manager" and you are able to just check what you want on/off. You can do this instead of having to hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and having to click end task on each item. Is there anything like this on Windows 95? The Msconfig program doesn't work. If there is something like this, does it come with 95 or do you have to download it... Please help.. P. J.

The msconfig utility does not 'end task' items. It is primarily used for troubleshooting and system tuning. You can select what items are processed when the system starts up and select which startup files to use (system.ini, win.ini).
To do the same in Win95 you can run the sysedit command to edit the startup files, and you must manually remove items from the startup folder.
