msconfig question with win98

I have a windows 98 machine. If I go into msconfig then my startup I can uncheck entries that I dont want to run on startup. After I uncheck these they still remain on this screen unchecked. Is there a way to “clean this up” or delete these unchecked entries so they do not show on this screen.
