Msconfig.exe on NT?

By puhl ·
Does the msconfig.exe program work on NT? If it does, do you know which files I have to steal from 98 and where in the directory structure in NT I have to put them? Or does it matter?

Thanks for the help.

Phil

Msconfig.exe on NT?

by rickh9 In reply to Msconfig.exe on NT?

Msconfig cannot to the best of my knowledge be run on an NT system. Even if it were able to run it's usefulness would be limited due to the many OS differences, most of the info would be blank.(no win.ini etc.)
About the closest thing would be Windows NT diagnostics (in the Administrative tools program group) I would have to assume that MS considers it the NT equivalent since when System info is installed, it lists NT diagnostics in the toolbar where msconfig would normally be on a W9x machine.

You try going to a DOS prompt and typing IPCONFIG?
or IPCONFIG /RELEASE (or /renew)
works the same, just not as pretty.
