I teach a computer group in the retirement village in which I live. One of our members has been getting an undue amount of “this has caused an illegal operation and will be shut down”. After a while messages start popping up when printing or moving files that reads “Some drives are operating in MSDOS Compatibility Mode” or something to that effect. A check of the Microsoft FAQ’s shows article Q130 entitled MSDOS Compatibility mode. The solutions offered there did not work.
Do you have any suggestions. The OS is Win95B and is a Gateway, 166MHz OEM computer.
