MSI Installation Errors after installed

By peter ·
when i am logged on to the server and want to access any office2000 application (by doubl clicking the icon it comes up with an MSI INSTALLATION ERROR.

Could you tell me what causes this and how can i stop the errors without uninstalling and reloading office.

Third party software has been put on the server by solution six (accounting software package) would this have done something to the registry and to office i am really at a stand still. and we can't have the server go off line at any time?.

MSI Installation Errors after installed

The only thing I'm stll wondering is, did this just start to happen or has it been hapening all along? I've seen this several times and have a couple of things you can try.
1. Reinstall/Repair Office - it is looking for the original .msi file that was used for the installation. Was it installed off cd or a network location?
2. Do you use local or roaming profiles? Roaming profiles are the number one cause I see cause this problem, that is, if you use local profiles. Make it a local profile.
3. Delete the profile (logon under a diff. account and delete the profile). Logon and recreate the profile.

Hope this helps.
