MSI Package

By ask_anurag ·
Hi,
I created one MST file to install MSI package remotely but when i am trying to run it is giving me two error message:
1) The Installer Package Could Not Be Opened.
2) Not Able To Find Install log file.
I am running this command to install MSI package.
msiexec /i \\192.168.23.200\icainstall\ica32pkg.msi /qn TRANSFORMS=\\192.168.23.200\icainstall\ica32pkg.mst /l*v \\192.168.23.200\icainstall\install.log
Thanks and Regards.
Anurag.

try this msiexec /i \\192.168.23.200\icainstall\ica32pkg.msi TRANSFORMS=\\192.168.23.200\icainstall\ica32pkg.mst /l*v \\192.168.23.200\icainstall\install.log

or msiexec /i \\192.168.23.200\icainstall\ica32pkg.msi TRANSFORMS=\\192.168.23.200\icainstall\ica32pkg.mst

and put logging in the registry. Open registry with command regedit
navigate to here
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Polices\Microsoft\Windows\Installer

IF the Installer folder does not exist create it.

Then right click in left pane and select new string value. The value is logging and the value data is "voicewarmup". your log file will be created in the %temp% directory or the root temp directory.

/qb has to be done at the end of command, but i recommend excluding it because it could be hiding an error. To make sure it can find your package type your command msiexec /i then drag the package into the window that you are typing the command then type transforms= drag drop the transform get ride of the space between the = and the mst file path. then don't bother with your logging use the registry to log.
