After installing Win2000Pro as a dual boot I am unable to open the System Information from the start menu. I can get to the startup tool from the run menu by using msconfig and can troubleshoot the startup programs from there. When I click the System Information on the start menu I get an error "This application or dll cannot be run on Windows 95 or Windows 3.1. It takes advantage of Unicode features only available in Windows NT". Then I get an error msg " Error starting program. The MFC42U.DLL file cannot start. Check the file to determine the problem". I installed Win98SE before the Win200Pro and never had a problem like this before installing 2000. I can get to System Info in 2000 but not in 98. If I click on the MSInfo32.exe file I get the same errors. Any ideas whats going on? Anybody

The problem here is that the Windows 98 version of MSINFO32 has been over written with the Windows 2000 version. MSINFO32 is saved intehprogram files fodler structure, C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo specifically. I always recommend having each OS on a seperate partition in a dual/multiple boot situation. That way each OS will have it own Windows and Program Files folder structure.
