MSINFO32 System History Duration

Following up a tip in a recent Windows XP newsletter, I have been using the software system history log to help clear out some malware. More than a month’s worth of data can be stored in the history file though as the log has entries going back to early 2004. Who knows what determines its length? Is it activity? Or some other factor?
