MSMQ Perfmon

By boyhowdy ·
I can't see any data from Perfmon for MSMQ. Applied SP2 and still no diff. Get the following message:

The Open Procedure for service "MSMQ" in DLL "C:\WINNT\system32\MQPERF.DLL" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code returned is data DWORD 0.

Thanks,
BoyHowdy

MSMQ Perfmon

When you install the Message Queueing Service (and remember it is not a default component in a Windows 2000 installation so you need to install it) you should get 2 Performance Objects for MSMQ Queue and MSMQ Service.

Make sure that the service is installed and started. If it is started then I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the service - then reservice packing, unless you install it form an SP 2 CD.

MSMQ Perfmon

Reinstalling the service is not really an option. The MQPERF.DLL is there as well as the .ini file for perfmon. Is there any util that might allow me to re-register the MSMQ Performance Metrics?
