msn connection problems

by jim4flyin In reply to msn connection problems

It is quite possible your modem is using
a protocal that is not fully supported by
your ISP. Conexant modems most often
have k-flex technology. Most ISPs today
use V.90. You can disable k-flex on most
conexant modems by entering the string
at&f7c1&d2 s38=0. or by entering
at+ms=v34,1,75,14400,75,33600 you can
force the modem to use the V.34 protocal
(or act as a 33.6 modem). If either of
these strins give you a modem error
simple remove the string and reboot your
computer. You can enter a modem
string by going to properties on your
modem and selectging the connection
tab and then clicking on advanced. Enter
the sting inte Extra Settings field.

Hope this helps.....
