You can find the IP Adress with "nslookup messenger.msn.com" command. Type this command in Dos command windows. By the way the IP adress is 64.4.15.61

Hi,

If you want to block users on your network from having access to MSN Messenger you cannot do it with a firewall. You need a Layer 7 proxy that can filter based on the application type. Indeed MSN Messenger will fall back to port 80 if all else fails and the only way to stop that specific kind of traffic is to use a proxy server (cf. Squid or other).

Remember, blocking the IP address will not do what you want, anyway MSN Messenger will try establishing connections to a lot of IPs and it is not possible to block them all.

I hope this helps, enjoy
