MSN Messenger - What is he doing

By johnndeb ·
Hi There,
We have a collegue who we beleive may be useing MSN Messenger illegally at work. Is there a way that we can see what he is doing with this progam. I realise there is a question regarding morals but as he is using work resources he is clearly the one overstepping the line.

Thankyou Jonathon Power

What?s mean ?useing MSN Messenger illegally at work??
If not allowed to use MSN messenger, simply uninstall the messenger.
Of course you must restrict this user rights for denied reinstalling.

I agree

Uninstalling the program may be the best way to go.

Do you, howevever, allow your staff to use Messanger 'legally'? If so, I think there is an option to log all messages. So long as this aspect (monitoring) of employees is clearly stated in an acceptable use policy, you should be able to monitor the employee legally. Otherwise, you will end up being the one who is accused of 'illegal' practices.

Good luck

I use a remote desktop viewer called vnc. It enables you to see what is on the users desktop. Works like a dream!
