MSN Messenger won’t launch in Win98
LockedI’ve installed MSN Messenger 4.5 on a Win98 machine. I get a program entry on the Start menu but no icon in the lower right corner on my machine, nor will it start automatically when I restart my machine. I do get an icon in Internet Explorer 6.When I try to launch MSN Messenger from either the Start Menu or from inside IE, I hear my open.wav, but the program does not open, and it does not show up in the close program boxwhen I do a Ctl-Alt-Del. When I unistall it, I get a message that I must close it first, but I have no way to do that. If I continue with the uninstall, it unistalls. I have also tried MSN Messenger 3.0. I get the same results. Yahoo Messenger will install and work properly, but my colleagues use MSN Messenger.
Does any one have any suggestions?
