Sounds like a lucky occurence to me. I would never install MSN toolbar or Yahoo toolbar or any of that ilk.
sorry not what you wanted I am sure.

Fair comment above!

In any case if you look at the small print somewhere its prolly for a newer version of ie or its only supported by the w2k/xp family or something similar.

Probably a blessing.

The MSN toolbar should run on win98 with IE6.

First thing to check is:
In your web browser, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
On the Advanced tab, select the check box next to Enable third-party extensions (requires restart).

Next reboot the PC and once started ensure you turn off any extra programs running (ex. firewall, virus protection, etc.)

Then connect to MSN and click to download the toolbar. When it gives the option to open or save the file ..Open the file and follow prompts to install.

After the install if it is not showing close all browsers then re-open IE.

The third-party extensions are already enabled. still i rebooted the pc and reinstalled the toolbar, followed the procedure as suggested by u,but it didn't help.

Hi,

do you have the normal msn toolbar or msn toolbar suite.
http://toolbar.msn.com/default.asp
That one is only for windows xp.

I found their official support page.
http://support.msn.com/contactus_emailsupport.aspx?productkey=toolbar&ct=eformfree

and their public newsgroup is at.
microsoft.public.msn.discussion

I could not find more info.

Oh, it's pressy simple to solve! Just create a folder "Program Files" (me have it under c), and it should properly install then.
