This is not necessarily the correct group for this question but I couldn’t find Office 97. I have this problem on a number of Win98 machines.
When someone tries to open an Office 97 application (it has happened with
Excel and Word so far) I get the following message:
MSO97.dll is missing.
But when I look on a machine where Office 97 is working and find the mso97.dll and then look on the machine that claims is missing, it is there and in the correct place.
I have tried a number of options already:
1. Uninstall and reinstall. didn’t work.
2. replace the .dll with a known good one from another computer. didn’t work.
I have had this before but didn’t find an answer and had to scrub the hard drive and start again. I can’t keep doing this as it is a long process. Even ghosting hard drives is a long process.
