MsPaint messed up, using all memory.

by okn916 . Updated 18 years, 5 months ago

I have a problem with Ms Paint, when I launch it immediately uses up all of my memory (1 Gb). And it won’t close, the only way to shut it down is in task manager, if I try it tells me I have insufficient memory and resources to complete the requested operation.

I can use the run as command and run as another user ok which leads me to the assumption that ms paint is remembering the dimensions of the previous window that I used – the blank canvas is huge, I remember enlarging by 1000 % or something when I was doing some work on a photo or something. I can open other photos ok – when they eventualy load.

So anyway – I think the question is, does anyone know how or where windows stores the information of the last window used and how to edit it manualy so that i can get the use of this program back? Or shall I just reinstall mspaint (is it possible, not sure if it is listed as one of the options in add/remove windows components)?

Any help suggestions much appreciated.
