Since approximately 3/27/, I have been receiving the following error messages at bootup:
1. “The MSVCIRT.DLL file is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL ??_U@YAPAXI@Z”
2. “C:\Program Files\. . .\*.exe
A device attached to the system is not functioning”
So far, this error blocks execution of HotSync, MSInfo, FrontPage 2000.
I have located many copies of both referenced *.dll’s and copied them where I thought they belong; I’ve reinstalled Windows (98SE), Office 2000, HotSync, Palm Desktop, VB6, earlier VB run *.dll files. I have not uninstalled any of these (yet.)
If anyone has any clues, I’d really appreciate it. This is making my PC life quite miserable.
