Muiltiple users on the same PC at the same time.

By dihala ·
Hello folks. This is my first time here. I have a question regarding our company's IT usabilities. I wanted to find out if there is a program or way in windoes (freeware or to buy) that will allow multiple users to login into the same PC at the same time remotely. For example, I have a PC which acts like a server. Can 10 people loginto the same server using programs like "GotomyPC" and work off it simultaneously??
Thanks for your inputs in advance.
Peter.

Depends on OS

I know that for XP's remote desktop feature, you are allowed to connect up to 2 users onto a machine running Small Business Server 2003 at the same time. However, if you're connecting to an XP Pro computer, only 1 user can log in at once. As for using GoToMyPC, I am unsure if this bypasses this limit...

You are going to need to set up a terminal server for this.

You need to buy a copy of Windows 2003/2000 Server and set up Terminal Services on it. Second you will need to setup a Terminal Server Licensing server. Depending on which server version you use, you will need to buy terminal server client access licenses.

EDIT: I have had as many as 25 people logged into a terminal server at one time. You just need hardware that is beefy enough to support that many users.
