Multi-carrier shipping

Our shipping department currently uses five shipping computers (for only two people) to ship out our orders on a daily basis. We have two Fed Ex, two UPS and one DHL computer.
Are any of you using a good multi-carrier shipping system? Are there any systems that I should stay away from?

I guess I am just looking for general information to get me started on product research. Thanks in advance for the help.
