Multiboot XP and RH Linux 7.0

By morshidi.saufi ·
My harddisk now have XP(OEM-licensed) running and I have about 20 gig of free space left. I would like to have 10 gig for RedHat Linux 7.0. How do I installed Linux without having to reformat the harddisk meaning leaving XP intact?

Thanks.

You will need the latest version of Partition Magic, or a similar partition manager utility.

Make sure you get the newest version, as the older versions do not work with XP.

Also, play it safe, and back up any critical files before running theutility.

There are a couple of Tech Republic articles on dual booting Linux and W2K. Since W2K is the core code of XP, these articles would be worth your time to look over.
