Multiple Connections in 5.1

Why does monitor.nlm show multiple connections for same user one being "normal connection" and one being "authenticated". Licensing is exceeded because of two logins per user.

that's basic - the "authenticated" connection for the same user is the connection used by the workstation manager which is by default installed by the newer clients - as long as you don't use ZEN to really use the WS manager, it won't actually log in to the server - so it does NOT take up a connection license.

Connections with an asterisk beside them are not licensed. Something else is taking your licensed connections.
