Multiple Domains Lock out users

by rdbaird . Updated 22 years, 8 months ago

We are running two different domains and some of the usernames are the same between them. One of our domains is our WAN for standard stuff – email, file services, printing, etc. The other domain is a specific LAN set up just for one specific function. We only have about a dozen users on the second domain. (I will refer to these as PD for primary domain and SD for secondary domain.)

When these users log on to the SD with their password (which is different from their PD password) they get locked out on the PD. They refuse to change this password and have to be unlocked every day so that they can access the PD. Does anyone know a way to keep the SD from sending the user information to the PD for authentication? Is there some way to make sure they don’t try to authenticate to each other?

Any suggestions are very welcome.

Thank you,

Richard

PS – Both are Windows 2000 Domains with Active Directory installed.
