Explain a little further. Do you mean that they have drive letters assigned from their own machine to their own machine?

      Cheers.

This what I mean. User logs on Win 95 machine. In the course of a day her ‘C’ drive multiplies. When you look in My Computer you see c, d, e, f, g, h, i and j is her cd-rom drive. What would make that happen?

Are these CD or DVD Rom Mappings? If so, you have probably installed software which emulates cd Drives. These often come from CD burner software etc. Often you can see the Icons corresponding to that software in the taskbar. You should be able to remove those drives from starting up automatically by right-clicking on the icon in the taskbar and then changing the setup of these programs. If you start msconfig via Start, Run, you can also disable items which startup automatically.
